These horrors continue-- yet many in the west either don't know about them-- or don't really care! :-(

The Congo has always been bad. But whether people know or just don't care? I don't know, it's a shame, but I have a feeling that things, not only there, but elsewhere around the world, is reverting to the law of the jungle.

I wish I was, but no. Africa, for the most part has always been dog eat dog. People want to change it, some even think they can, others try. But the bottom line is...I don't think there will ever be peace there. In the '70s Cuba and Russia, and yes the U.S. (Angola) all had troops in some area all over the country. But, yeah, there it IS the law of the jungle.

Well, I have to admit-- th emore I learn abouit what goes on insome of the countries there-- the more pessimistic I become.

things like this:

Somali girl 'pleaded for mercy' before Islamists stoned her to death for being raped

A girl of 13 begged for mercy moments before a mob buried her up to her shoulders and stoned her to death, it was claimed yesterday. The Somalian youngster is said to have pleaded 'Don't kill me, don't kill me' before her horrific execution in front of a 1,000-strong crowd. ...

I don't think there will ever be peace there.

Or this:

Albinos in East Africa fear for lives after killings

NAIROBI, Kenya — The mistaken belief that albino body parts have magical powers has driven thousands of Africa's albinos into hiding, fearful of losing their lives and limbs to unscrupulous dealers who can make up to $75,000 selling a complete dismembered set.

Well, I don't know if it will "never" come-- but I don't think it will come for a very long time.
